I'm Attorney Joyce Heritage, and I'm committed to providing clients throughout Kittitas County and the surrounding areas with responsive service and experienced legal representation.
Experience and Local Knowledge
I bring more than two decades of legal experience and over 20 years in the financial industry to my practice. That dual background gives me a practical understanding of the real-world concerns my clients face.
Although I have handled a variety of legal matters, my practice is focused on traffic and criminal defense throughout much of Washington State. I have developed extensive knowledge of Washington's traffic laws and the local court procedures, judges, and prosecutors in the communities where I appear.
Local knowledge matters. Every court has its own procedures, and every case has its own facts. My familiarity with the courts and the people who work in them allows me to provide informed, practical representation to clients facing traffic citations, DUI, MIP, reckless driving, negligent driving, CDL issues, and other criminal charges.
Continuing Legal Education and Training
I stay current on developments in Washington criminal and traffic law through active membership in:
- Washington State Bar Association (WSBA)
- Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL)
- Kittitas County Bar Association (KCBA)
I regularly attend continuing legal education programs focused on DUI defense, including the annual DUI defense seminar presented by the Washington Foundation for Criminal Justice (WFCJ). In 2015, I completed standardized field sobriety testing training through LaPier & Associates, LLC, giving me a practical understanding of how these tests are administered and evaluated in court.

Life Outside the Office
Outside of practicing law, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two children, and our three grandchildren. I love gardening, cooking, needlework, and following the Seattle Seahawks — and I especially enjoy sharing these interests with my grandchildren. My husband and I also enjoy traveling, particularly taking road trips and exploring new places together
